Salvadoran American National Association (SANA) Dinner Gala
The UCLA NAID Center attended SANA's 16th annual dinner gala event for the Dia del Salvadoreño. Leaders from the Salvadoran community were able to celebrate its recent achievements and discuss its current conflict with the unaccompanied children at the border. In attendance, the Salvadoran Vice-Minister for Salvadorans Abroad, Honorable Liduvina Magarin shared her experience about her visits to talk to the children at the border. This fundraising event provided an opportunity for the UCLA NAID Center to take part in the dialogue of the Salvadorean community.
The Clinton Global Initiative America 2014
From June 23-25th, Dr. Raul Hinojosa attended the 4th annual CGI America meeting hosted by President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, and Chelsea Clinton. At the event, Dr. Hinojosa was able to talk to leaders from businesses, foundations, NGOs, and government offices about financial empowerment, mobile banking, and the City ID project that could help residents of cities across the United States.
